Mecha Knights: Nightmare – Walkthrough

Overview

Mecha Knights: Nightmare is a robot action shooting game developed by Damian Kubiak. At first glance, it looks like Armored Core, but in reality, it’s more like Earth Defense Force, where you control a robot that turns a tremendous amount of deformed creatures into chunks of meat. All parts of the body, such as the head and legs, are interchangeable to suit your preference, and weapons range from assault rifles to cannons and sniper rifles, and each side can be equipped with different weapons, allowing for flexible customization to suit your play style.

Although the difficulty level is high due to the system, such as the lack of jumping and the importance of energy management, the difficulty level is not unbalanced, as it can be cleared by planning countermeasures for each stage (except for some strangely hard enemies). If you have a twisted desire to destroy monsters with firearms, this is the game for you! :)))

In the campaign mode, there are Missions and Raids, the latter of which is a mode where you just keep killing the enemies that keep popping up (you succeed by escaping from an escape point along the way, and you fail and get nothing if you get killed). The equipment and money you obtain are common, so if you are in need of them, you can earn them in Raids.

This page describes how to play Missions, the story mode.

Border Patrol

This is the tutorial stage. The goal is displayed in the upper right corner of the screen, so follow it. When the number on the right side of the screen reaches 100%, it will change to the next target.

©Damian Kubiak

  1. First, use the WSAD keys to move left, right, up, and down.
  2. Next, press the Shift key to activate the booster.
  3. Move while the booster is activated.
  4. Press and hold the spacebar while the booster is activated to move in an overboosted state.
  5. Press the spacebar twice while the booster is activated to move in jet mode.
  6. Press the F key to switch the camera mode.
  7. Use the mouse wheel to zoom the camera.
  8. Use left/right click, E key, and Q key to use weapons.
  9. Press 1 or R to call the helicopter.
  10. Wait for a moment to collect the items that will be dropped on the helipad.

After completing the tutorial, enemy tanks and helicopters will appear, so destroying them all will clear the game. The enemies here are few in number and the barrage is thin, so you shouldn’t have any problems.

You will find items and money on the field, so be sure to collect them. Items and money are shown in white on the radar at the bottom center of the screen, green are recovery items, red are enemies, and blue are allies.

Since the next stage is a night stage, you can attach the MNVS-02 night vision to the active module slot to make the screen easier to see.

You’ll soon be facing a lot of enemies, so equip your active modules with CH52s and repair kits that can call in helicopters to replenish your supplies. By equipping multiple of these, you won’t have to worry about depleting your stamina and ammo, so in the future, you should prioritize upgrading the active module slot in the upgrade section (and the passive module slot if possible).

©Damian Kubiak

In addition to the module slots, other priority upgrades include Battery Cells Technology – Energy Capacity, Leg Servomotors Technology – Walk Speed, Heat Exchangers Technology – Weapon Cooling”, and “Ammo Clips” are recommended.

Lost Battalion

This is a night stage. Follow the path while collecting items and you’ll come to an area with buildings. After this, many monsters will appear, so destroy all the buildings to get a better view.

©Damian Kubiak

It’s still an easy stage, so you’ll have no problem clearing it by just single-mindedly defeating the enemies that appear.

©Damian Kubiak

If you are earning money from Missions instead of Raids, this Lost Battalion stage is a good place to earn money as it is easy to complete and you can earn equipment and money.

The next stage is a daytime stage, so be sure to remove your night vision and replace it with an air supply.

Gates Of Tbilisi

The monsters come close to you from the very beginning. In the third stage, the number of enemies suddenly increases and the difficulty level rises.

We recommend the AX10-APFSDS cannon, which is very powerful and has a non-zero blast area, the SM1 Seiryu shoulder weapon, which can lock onto enemies and attack multiple targets, and the VLS-X1B Vulcan, which takes a few seconds to bomb, but can attack a wide area.

©Damian Kubiak

©Damian Kubiak

In the beginning, you tend to run out of ammunition or energy due to lack of equipment. Calling in a helicopter as soon as the stage starts will save you time by allowing you to quickly retrieve items when you are in trouble. If you keep running out of ammo, you can earn money in the Lost Battalion to upgrade and collect more powerful weapons and equipment.

In the second half of the game, there are huge enemies.

©Damian Kubiak

Enemies in this game will either act in a straight line towards the player or NPC, or they will stay where they are and shoot their beams. Also, enemies can’t keep up with the player’s speed when the booster is activated. So you can defeat them one-sidedly by activating the booster, moving mainly sideways, and shooting while circling around the enemy. It is important to manage the energy needed for the booster.

Hell In Baku

It becomes more and more like the Earth Defense Forces.

©Damian Kubiak

If you have L150C in your shoulder weapon, I recommend shooting between buildings from this position diagonally forward to the right from the starting point, as you can cut down all the enemies that come out at once.

©Damian Kubiak

As long as you are careful not to run out of ammunition, this stage will not be a problem. Try not to go too far into the stage, as you may be surrounded when you run out of energy.

Kamo Breaktrough

Follow the path and the enemies will come out from behind the buildings.

©Damian Kubiak

You will meet up with your friends as you proceed through the process. This is where you will defeat a large number of enemies.

©Damian Kubiak

There are many enemies like crabs as a matter of course. Use a powerful weapon.

©Damian Kubiak

New enemies also appear.

©Damian Kubiak

This is a relatively easy stage, although there are a lot of enemies coming at you. Enemies that aren’t targeting the player will gather on NPC tanks, so you can wipe them out with a good shot from your shoulder weapon.

©Damian Kubiak

Behind Enemy Lines

As you can see from the warning from Neve at the beginning, “Don’t engage all enemies in this area,” there will be an unusual number of enemies from the middle of this stage, so you will have to escape from the escape point instead of defeating them.

©Damian Kubiak

Here, you will encounter spider-like enemies. In the middle of the game, there will also be enemies that will bomb you from a distance. You’ll see three red circles lined up horizontally on the screen, and the enemies in those circles will bomb you. There is no end to defeating the other enemies, so ignore them and quickly defeat the ones in the red circles.

©Damian Kubiak

After defeating all the enemies in the red circle, you will be instructed to move to the escape point. Go towards the white circle mark.

©Damian Kubiak

©Damian Kubiak

Get on the plane and escape.

©Damian Kubiak

Otherwise, this will happen.

©Damian Kubiak

Battle Of Yerevan

You will be fighting a defensive battle in the city center. There will be a large number of enemies that have appeared so far, but if you have obtained the MM-GAU30A1 Gatling gun, you will be able to clear them without any problems.

In this stage, you will be going around helping a small number of allied forces. Proceed to the white circle point while dealing with the enemies to save your friends.

©Damian Kubiak

Fire Typhoon

The middle of the game is a phase where you have to endure a large number of enemies.

©Damian Kubiak

A grotesque new enemy.

©Damian Kubiak

It’s a great feeling to defeat a giant enemy while passing through its legs.

©Damian Kubiak

After holding out for a while, enemies will reappear, bombing you from a distance. Go toward the red circle to defeat them.

©Damian Kubiak

After enduring for a while, a large boss will finally appear. Basically, attack the boss while retreating and circling around it.

©Damian Kubiak

After defeating it, a mysterious laser beam appeared in the sky.

©Damian Kubiak

It is dangerous and you will have to retreat. Go back the way you came (go to the white circle). If you endure for a while, you will be cleared.

©Damian Kubiak

Evacuation

This is the stage where you have to protect the survivors from the enemy and retreat them as much as possible. Sheryl will be your companion and you will have to protect her as she is young, inexperienced, and probably not ready for battle.

©Damian Kubiak

Cross the bridge and collect the items during the first conversation. If you do this after the battle has started, you won’t have time to collect the items because of the amount of enemies.

Avoid fighting on the bridge. If enemies rush you, you will receive concentrated fire on the narrow bridge and your HP will be reduced at once. It’s important to keep survivors alive as much as possible, but it’s useless if you die, so try to stay in a wide area and avoid being surrounded by enemies. It is recommended to use the space between the warehouses to move in a circular motion, as it is easy to balance attack and temporary evacuation even when there are many enemies.

Basically, keep defeating enemies in the large area on one side, and after one layer, cross the bridge and move to the area on the other side to defeat enemies. As the number of enemies increases in the latter half of the game, the risk of crossing the bridge becomes greater, so you need to move while constantly attacking.

The weapon is a combination of the “1S15E Iset” grenade launcher and the “MM-GAU30A3” gatling gun, and the “L150C” or “L450A SH-Corinth” shoulder is recommended. The grenade launcher and howitzer (L150, L450) are very powerful and have a range attack, so they can deal with both small and large enemies. The Gatling is also practically a ranged attack, and since it can disperse a lot of bullets, it is useful for cleaning up enemies around you while you are loading the next round of the grenade launcher or Howtzer.

Fleet Defence

This is a stage on a ship. Your movement range is limited, so it’s a game of how quickly you can dispose of the enemies.

©Damian Kubiak

Small insect-like enemies will spring up.

©Damian Kubiak

You can use a sniper rifle or something similar, but the enemies also shoot bullets and there are many of them, and it’s a narrow stage on a ship, so it’s difficult to calmly dispose of them one by one.

If you keep defeating enemies, a large bee-like boss will appear.

©Damian Kubiak

The movement is slow, so you won’t have any difficulty.

The next stage is at night, so make sure you have night vision in your active module slot.

Underground Base

Infiltrate the underground military facility.

©Damian Kubiak

As you proceed to the marked points, you will encounter some creepy enemies along the way.

©Damian Kubiak

©Damian Kubiak

Proceed to the main hub, but be sure to stop by and collect the money and items in each room along the way. There are two targets, the main one and the optional one, but you should go to the optional one first to get the items.

©Damian Kubiak

©Damian Kubiak

Once you have advanced to the main objective, move to the data download position in the back and wait. You will be attacked by enemies, but if you leave the download position, the download will be interrupted, so either attack and endure, or leave the position and download the data gradually while defeating the enemies.

©Damian Kubiak

Now all you have to do is go back to the road and go outside, and your mission is complete.

©Damian Kubiak

Rain Of Fire

Collect the data from the crashed helicopter. There is an optional item here as well, so be sure to collect it. Go to the back from the starting point and you’ll find a row of items.

©Damian Kubiak

Stay at the crash site and download the data.

©Damian Kubiak

The other thing to do is to make sure that at least 50% of the allied units survive, but this is quite difficult because there are so many enemies, so try to use the air support you can call with the tab key as soon as possible. Instead of going back to your allies to fight with them, move diagonally to the right from where they are positioned to lure them in.

©Damian Kubiak

There are a lot of small bee-like monsters in this stage, so it is recommended to have a turret MT-GH50A or A-RL80 on your shoulder. It will automatically shoot down enemies in the sky that are difficult to shoot down accurately.

The Hunter

This is a stage where you have to defeat huge enemies that shoot beams at you from a distance. As soon as the stage starts, go forward diagonally to the right, pass between the rocks, and turn to the right to find two giant enemies. They’ll keep firing beams at you for a while, so keep moving in either direction to avoid them until they stop attacking. They have a lot of strength, so use a weapon with high attack power. I recommend a combination of a 1S15E Iset, MM-GAU30A3 in each hand, and two L450As on your shoulders. If you try to attack from a distance, you’ll get a lot of spiders, so it’s safer to dispose of them in a short battle; the L450A, for example, can dispose of a lot of spiders in one shot.

©Damian Kubiak

©Damian Kubiak

©Damian Kubiak

Once you have defeated a total of ten of them, move to the escape point where Mia is and you will be cleared.

©Damian Kubiak

Fire Support

This is the stage where you have to protect your friends. Once you’ve made it over the hill to the point of protecting your friendly units, you’ll need to go around and kill the enemies to keep your soldiers from getting more than 50% wounded. I don’t think there is anything particularly difficult about this stage.

©Damian Kubiak

Once you’ve held out until the hovercraft arrives, you can finally use the tab key to target the giants for bombardment and clear them.

©Damian Kubiak

Battle Of Bosporus

Set up on the beach and intercept the giants with your railgun. Basically, as soon as a giant appears, use the tab key to target the giant and attack it yourself, giving you priority over other enemies. If there are no Titans in sight, you can also use the railgun to target normal large enemies to defeat them more efficiently.

©Damian Kubiak

Large enemies also come out in droves, so you have to deal with them earlier than the smaller ones. However, you can use the same equipment as before.

©Damian Kubiak

Odessa

This is the stage where you have to kill all the enemies in the harbor. You can use the tab key to request air support, so use it sparingly.

©Damian Kubiak

When you get to this point, I think you can fix your weapons and equipment. Anyway, the 1S15E Iset in both hands and the L450A on both shoulders is very strong.

©Damian Kubiak

The next stage is at night, so use your night vision.

The Rrincess

You are now a machine that just kills enemies. YES! Keep killing the enemies.

©Damian Kubiak

After a while, Mia will be injured outside the Sector Bravo. Head to the point marked with a white circle, where you will find Mia after listening to Ethan’s passionate conversation. Go to the point marked with a white circle.

©Damian Kubiak

After you find Mia, just keep killing enemies.

Weapon Test

Here, the weapon on your right shoulder will be forced to change to a different one, but it is very powerful and you won’t have any trouble with it. The enemies that have appeared so far are all here. At first, deal with the mooks to a certain extent, then go on to defeat the giants. Eventually, a large number of large enemies will appear, but they can be defeated in no time because of the strong weapons that have been exchanged.

©Damian Kubiak

©Damian Kubiak

After defeating the enemies for a while, enemies that shoot lasers will appear. Defeat four of them to clear the stage. The rewards in this stage are powerful.

©Damian Kubiak

Kiev | Part I

It is recommended that you have a 1S15E Iset as your weapon in each hand and two MLR-FAE VIs as your shoulder weapons.

The first goal of this stage is to destroy the enemies that shoot lasers and the enemies that bombard you from a distance. In order to defeat the enemies shooting lasers, you need to cross the bridge, so avoid the lasers as much as possible by pulling them to the left and right and gradually moving in the opposite direction. Surprisingly, it is possible to go through the gap between the lasers.

©Damian Kubiak

The MLR-FAE VI is very powerful, so it is perfect for disposing of targets; fold it up with the 1S15E and it will quickly sink any enemies that are firing lasers at you.

©Damian Kubiak

Once you’ve defeated all of the enemies that bombard you from a distance, you’ll be able to deal with the small enemies that spawn, and if you have the MLR-FAE VI, you won’t have any problems.

Kiev | Part II

This is the last battle. Naturally, the number of enemies is the highest and there are two bosses.

When the stage starts, head to the white circle to save your friends.

©Damian Kubiak

After that, you will enter a phase where you will have to kill a large number of enemies. You can indicate the target of the railgun, but you don’t have to use it because it’s stronger to shoot the MLR-FAE VI.

After enduring for a while, a boss will appear. This boss shoots lasers from its chest, so you need to keep moving left and right to avoid it. Also, you can’t use the railgun at this time.

©Damian Kubiak

After defeating them, keep defeating the enemies again, and a slightly different-looking giant will appear.

©Damian Kubiak

This thing spreads poisonous gas over a very wide area, so keep attacking it while looking for a place with as little gas as possible.

©Damian Kubiak

“The battle isn’t over yet, but I believe we can make it…!”

©Damian Kubiak

It seems that this is the end of the game, but I was a little disappointed because there is no particular ending. I’m sure more stages will be added in the future.

I’m sure you’ll like it. Recommended! :))
